Little Anders Martí is 9 months old today! Another month has flown by. Anders is such a joy to be around.
Read MoreSweet little Anders is 8 months old today! During the past month, Anders went on his first road trip. We drove 10 hours up to Yosemite and San Francisco. He did great on the car rides, but slept terrible in the hotels and airbnbs! But that’s okay, as soon as we were back home, he went right back to his good-sleeping self.

If you had asked me a year ago, I certainly wouldn’t have known. I wouldn’t have given much thought to this disorder. I wouldn’t have noticed that there seem to be bright flashing lights everywhere we go. I wouldn’t have thought twice about letting my child swim in the water, while I watched from the sidelines. And I wouldn’t have known how to help someone having a seizure.
But that all changed for us in 2021.

His original due date was this past weekend, and while we never intended to make it that far, Anders came even earlier than we expected. But I am so happy to report that he is really thriving and doing so well.

Sometimes it feels extra tough to have his birthday fall right in the middle of the holidays and the majority of our family’s birthdays. It’s such a season of celebration in our house, and yet, we have the most profound grief right at the forefront of our minds.
